Pharmacological action Estring (Estradiol Vaginal Ring)
Estring. Follicular hormone needed for the development of the female body and reproductive system. Exogenous estradiol has the same physiological effect as the natural hormone: stimulates the development of the uterus, fallopian tubes, the development of secondary sexual characteristics in their underdevelopment, causes proliferative changes in the endometrium, increases the excitability of the uterus, in large doses suppresses lactation. Estradiol regulates nitrogen metabolism, lowers blood lipid levels and cholesterol levels, has a weak anabolic effect. It promotes a balance between osteoblasts and osteoclasts, reducing bone resorption and promotes its formation.
Pharmacokinetics Estring (Estradiol Vaginal Ring)
After oral administration, absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Subjected to the effect of “first pass” through the liver. Metabolized to less active metabolites – estriol and estrone. Metabolites excreted by the kidneys, a small part – through the intestines.

Estradiol can increase the available uterine fibroids.
During the period of estradiol should be systematically monitoring of liver function and blood pressure, blood glucose concentrations in diabetes mellitus.
Drug Interactions
Estrogens may decrease effects of anticoagulants, antihypertensive and hypoglycemic drugs.
With simultaneous application of estradiol and drugs that induce hepatic enzymes (barbiturates, carbamazepine, griseofulvin, and rifampin) may decrease the level of estradiol in the blood plasma.
